CQA’s work grows through contributions from researchers, educators, professionals, and collaborating organisations. This page distinguishes completed activities, work in progress, and upcoming participation. Contributions are recognised alongside the universities, organisers, and individuals involved.
Education and community: 2025–2026
Quantum computing diploma programme · 2025
Members of the community that later formed CQA supported a quantum computing diploma programme with Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. The university’s 2025 report records the programme and 62 participants; the community’s contribution is documented in its own accounts and presentation materials.
Q-AI Summer School · July 2025
The community supported the Q-AI Summer School at Universidad del Rosario, held on 14–18 July 2025. This educational experience forms part of the collaborative trajectory preceding CQA’s beginning in November 2025.
Quantum Day · 19 June 2026
Quantum Day brought together participants from Amazon Braket and Xanadu/PennyLane for introductory sessions and practical exploration of quantum computing tools. The event was associated with the ninth Colombian HPC Summer School.
Engagement with Colombia’s technology community
Members of the alliance participated in the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce’s TechDay. Discussions with CINTEL and Cenisoft are part of ongoing efforts to connect scientific interests with the wider technology community.
Scientific and technological exchange
Our reported exchanges include conversations with the NCSA team, Amazon Braket, Xanadu, IQM, D-Wave, Classiq, and NVIDIA, as well as discussions with Airbus about applications. These organisations contribute different perspectives on research, platforms, hardware, software, integration, and potential applications.
The purpose is to learn, compare approaches, and identify opportunities for cooperation. The scope of any infrastructure access or institutional commitment depends on the arrangements made by the participants concerned.
Research and shared resources
coQuantum-research
An initiative developing an evidence-based computational co-researcher to propose and evaluate candidate approaches. The work remains in development; simulation results and validation on physical quantum hardware are distinct stages of investigation.
Quantum simulation and application studies
Participants are exploring simulation, hybrid computational methods, and the formulation of problems in logistics and portfolio optimisation. Each study defines its scientific objectives, resource requirements, and appropriate classical comparisons.
Educational resources and evaluation guidance
The shared collection includes a quantum computing foundations textbook in English and Spanish, research manuscripts, and an institutional report. Contributors continue to develop educational materials and guidance for evaluating computational methods. Explore the resources and available editions.
Exchange through CILAMCE
The community reports support for the mini-symposium Methods in Quantum Computation and Quantum Information Processing within the XLVII Ibero-Latin American Congress on Computational Methods in Engineering, organised by Universidad del Rosario. Quantum Latino · 21–23 October 2026
CQA is listed by the organisers as a Supporting Partner. The published programme includes Esteban Hernández in a keynote on the research day and in the panel on quantum strategies in Colombia on the business day.
The conference provides opportunities for scientific discussion, regional exchange, and connections among participating communities. The organisers list venues in Envigado and Medellín, with online participation also available.
